REGULAR MEETING			12 May 2008

The Board of Education of Uniontown Unified School District 235, State of
Kansas, met in regular session on Monday, May 12, 2008, at 7:30 p.m. in the
the Uniontown High School Commons Area in Uniontown, Kansas.

Board members present:  	Lynne Oharah, Shawn Wilkinson, John Ericson, 
		        		Eldon Luker, Terry Nading, Jeff Tinsley, and Doug Coyan 

Others present for all or portions of the meeting:

   Randy Rockhold    Janet Jackson    Marianna Daugherty    Sherri Hartman   
   Tracy Smith    Alicia Jackson    Todd Vandeventer     Jason Silvers
   Julie Righter   Kevin Gleason

The meeting was called to order at 7:33 p.m. by President John Ericson who 
then led the group in the flag salute.

Motion was made by Tinsley, seconded by Luker, to adopt the agenda with 
the addition of Action Item A:  Approve Bus Bid of $ 72,330.00 from
Allied Bus.
Motion Passed 7-0.

Motion was made by Coyan, seconded by Nading, to approve the minutes of
the April 14, 2008, meeting. 
Motion passed 7-0. 

Julie Righter, Fort Scott Tribune spoke briefly to the Board.  

Todd Vandeventer, Piper Jaffray & Co, spoke briefly to the board regarding bond refinancing.    

Principals Smith and Daugherty and Superintendent Rockhold gave 
administrative reports for their buildings.

Motion was made by Oharah, seconded by Tinsley, to approve the Consent 
Agenda. 
Motion passed 7-0.
 
	A.    Approve payment of bills in the amount of $170,812.17.
	B.    Approve Treasurers Report for April 08. 
	C.    Approve Republished Budget.
	D.    Approve Athletic Handbook for 2008-2009.
	E.    Approve Supplemental Duty Assignments 2008-2009.
    	F.    Approve Spanish Club Trip Spring of 2009.
    	G.    Approve Bond Refinancing.

Motion was made by Wilkinson, seconded by Nading, to approve the bus
bid of 72,330.00 from Allied Bus.
Motion passed 7-0.

Motion was made by Coyan, seconded by Oharah, to go into executive 
session for a period of thirty (30) minutes to discuss personnel matters of 
non elected personnel in order to protect the privacy interests of an 
identifiable individual. Superintendent Rockhold was invited into the 
session.
Motion passed 7-0.

Into executive session at 8:25 p.m.
Out of executive session at 8:55 p.m.

Motion was made by Coyan, seconded by Tinsley, to accept the resignation 
of Debbie Judy as West Bourbon Elementary Aide.
Motion passed 7-0.

Motion was made by Wilkinson, seconded by Oharah, to approve
Aaron Law as High School Social Science teacher for the 2008-2009 
school year.
Motion passed 6-1.

Motion was made by Coyan, seconded by Nading, to adjourn the meeting.
Motion passed 7-0.    

Meeting adjourned at 9:02 p.m.
