The band will be attending five parades this year. They hope to participate in our Veteran's Day Assembly, Honor Band Auditions, Tuba Christmas, two concerts, K-State Honor Band, Flint Hills Youth For Music Music Festival, State Music Festival, State Music Large Ensemble, State Solo/Small Ensemble, 4-State Honor Band, and Uniontown graduation.
When asked if the band has any competitions coming up Mrs. Richwine responded "Music is different from sports in that we really are NOT competitive. Our area usually works together with other schools. The only areas that are "like" a competition are the audition areas for the Honor Bands. Our music festivals are rated but this rating is over how well you as an individual have prepared your music, or how the band performs their music. We do have one parade, Pitt State, which is a competition parade. Two years ago we made a I rating and last year we made a II rating at this parade."
The band is only having one fund-raiser this year. They are working the concessions for the JV football games.
The band is growing. You can hear them playing at the games. Although, some of the kids will be playing or cheering. You don't really get to hear the band. If you would like to really hear them play you will have to attend one of their concerts or parades.
