April 01, 2008

Bourbon County Big Brothers and Big Sisters volunteers needed Big Brothers and Big Sisters mentor children ages 5-18 for two hours a week when it is convenient for them. These children are referred by the school system, social service agency, or a parent because they are in need of extra attention and encouragement. As a volunteer you tell us what type of child and age range that you would like to work with, and we will match you based on your interests. All it takes is the willingness to be friends with a child who wants to spend time with a mentor. Matches can do an endless variety of activities together in the community, or you could simply include them in your everyday life. Being a volunteer and spending time with a child doesn’t cost a thing, and almost anyone can be a mentor. It doesn’t matter how old you are or how much money you have when you make a difference in the life of a child. There are many children in Bourbon County who are in need of a friend. Please call us today and find our how.
