Notice of Policy Changes

For this year, there will be some adjustments in a few areas.
School Eligibility: Students with 2 or more class averages of 59% or below "F" will not be eligible to participate in any school activities until their averages are back to 1 or less failing average. The student will need to bring a note from the teacher to the office indicating the grade change(s) in order to be eligible.
Please note: Coaches and Sponsors may elect to have a more strict policy. Ex: No failing grades, to participate. Each coach/sponsor will communicate their expectation to the group.
We will be working toward a school eligibility policy that will be ready for the 18-19 school year.
Absences: Students will be allowed 6 excused absences each year. At 4 and 6 excused absences, the student will receive notification as a warning. After 6 absences, each absence will require a doctor's note to be counted as excused. Any unexcused absences after the 6th absence will result in mandatory make up time. At 10 unexcused absences within the year, the case will be turned over to the Assistant County Attorney. This is in compliance with state law and cooperation with the Bourbon County District Attorney's Office.
Dress Code: There has been a change with the dress code policy. Students who have shorts or skirts that appear to be too short will be asked to use the finger tip measurement. The article of clothing must be longer than the student's fingertips when the arms are extended down to their sides. Any students that are not meeting this standard will be asked to change into different clothing. We will have options on hand for them to wear. The rest of the policy is the same from previous years.
