Feb-19th Policy Change

Backpacks, bags, purses, and cell phones

Beginning on February 19th students may not have backpacks, purses, bags, or cell phones in classrooms during the school day.

Backpacks, duffel bags, purses, etc must be stored in lockers or other appropriate spaces. They create a tripping hazard for teachers and other students.   Laptops/laptop bags may be brought into the classroom for the purpose of transporting the laptop.

Cell Phones may not be brought into any classroom/gym/locker room during the school day 8:00 AM - 3:35 PM.  Students can have access to their phones at the following times but otherwise must be kept in their lockers, left at home, or placed in another designated area.  They may access their phones:

  • Before school
  • Class change
  • Lunch
  • After school

Any violation will result in following the policy on page 22 of the handbook. Students may be contacted by calling the school and students may contact parents by using a school phone during class time.

If the choice is made to get a lock, the office will need a copy of the key or the combination.
