The Confidence in Kansas Public Education Task Force has named 99 schools in 34 Kansas public school districts as recipients of the 2015 Challenge Awards. The awards recognize Kansas schools that are making a notable difference in student achievement despite facing significant challenges in their school population. The Challenge Award recognizes schools for outstanding achievement and uncommon accomplishments based on Kansas Assessment results, the sample size and the socioeconomic status of those taking the test.
Out of 19 counties and 70 districts represented by Jim Porter, WBE 3rd graders were the only ones to earn the Challenge Award for both reading and math. What an accomplishment for those students and teachers (Carrie Miller and Tara Gorman). Awesome job!!!
