USD 235 parents and guardians:

As many of you have been made aware, the schools are working on plans to continue education for the rest of the school year in a way that can help students and families maintain their health and safety.  Unfortunately, with the current situation, School-based mental health services are being moved temporarily to our local Mental Health offices.  We are currently exploring options to acquire space closer to the communities that we provided those services.  For those individuals that had initiated services in the Uniontown School system, you can contact me at the Iola office at 620-365-5717 and I will assist you in getting scheduled or the office staff can assist you.  I will be splitting my time and be working out of the Fort Scott office on Mondays for those that live closer to Fort Scott.

I understand that the current outbreak of the COVID-19 virus has created a lot of changes for individuals and families, along with increased anxiety.  There are many unknowns at this point.  For your own health and wellness, please remember to practice good stress management techniques.  This would include daily physical activity, deep breathing, reaching out to supports, practicing good sleep hygiene, and keeping things in perspective.

If your children are not currently enrolled in services, but you would like them to begin, please contact me at the Iola office and we can set up a time to complete the initial intake process and answer any questions you may have.  Thank you for your understanding as we work to maintain mental health services for our communities.
