W.B.E. Library is hosting a Spring Book Fair. The book fair will be held May 3 - May 7th in the library during school hours for students. Then, we are going to open the book fair up on the patio, in the front of WBE, during track days on May 10th and 11th for families to be able to shop at the book fair. Uniontown Eagle, junior, Bryce Eck is the State Champion at 152 lbs. in 3-2-1 State Wrestling. Eck won the title at the 3-2-1A State Wrestling Tournament in Hays, Kansas, on Saturday, February 27, 2021. Eck defeated Brent Escareno, of Eureka, in the championship match by fall in the second period. Eck finished the season at 37-2 overall with wins over Escareno in the finals the last two weeks of the season. Bryce Eck, Head Coach Willie Hathaway, and Assistant Coach Andy Eck were met by a crowd of well-wishers upon returning to Uniontown on Sunday, February 28. Congratulations to all of our Uniontown HS wrestlers, the coaches, and Bryce for an outstanding season. As a result, the team earned the opportunity to represent the SE District FFA at the state contest in May. 3 team members also earned Master Ritual status which means they were ranked as the best at their respective position in the district. Uniontown HS Varsity Volleyball traveled to Crest HS this evening for a Triangular. Uniontown defeated Pleasanton in the first match of the evening 25-14, 25-18. The Eagles lost a tough 3-set match to the host Lancers 19-25, 25-22, 23-25 to wrap up the evening. The Eagles are now 6-3 overall and 4-1 in the Three Rivers League.

"An athlete who attended summer conditioning on Tuesday, 7/ 7 is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms. As a preventative measure, there will be no summer conditioning on Thursday, July 9 for male or female athletes. conditioning will be back on 7/ 13 and all athletes will be outside.

We kicked off chapter officer interviews today like we never have before!! I conducted 4 interview sessions with 4 of our 10 candidates this afternoon via Zoom! Each candidate was asked a series of questions and recorded. Tomorrow the other 6 candidates will be asked the same questions and of course will be recorded. Once all 10 have been interviewed, they will also record a short speech, upload to Youtube and share the link with me. At that point their interviews, speeches and applications will be shared with the interview judging panel for evaluation. FFA members are making the best of this situation and making things happen!

Braden rebuilt the carburetor, replaced the ignition coil and spark plug, and changed the oil on his family's garden tiller. Shortly after he tilled up a garden plot. Shoutout to senior Colt Eck and sophomore Bryce Eck on completing the fabrication of this big square bale feeder on their own during this past week!! He already has an order for 3 more!! If anyone is interested in purchasing one, let me know and I can get you in touch with the boys. Even though the school year isn’t finishing up like we all hoped, there are some cool things that will happen over the next several weeks. This is an example of that! I’m also excited to report that Mr. Reith is all in on students doing projects that relate to their elective courses and receiving class grades for it. I will have more information on what that looks like as we begin meeting over Zoom!

Thanks USD235 families for picking up your child's personal items and devices for our distance learning until the end of the year. Overall at WBE, things went really well, and we are thankful to each of you for making those times work. We have heard back that there are a few connecting issues with some devices. I participated in a webinar earlier today with KDHE, KSDE, and Gov. Kelly’s Chief of Staff regarding the Coronavirus Pandemic. Board President Jason Sutterby joined me. The FFA Trip is still happening! Despite the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo cancelling due to the Coronavirus scare, we are still leaving tomorrow morning at 4:00 AM. We will continue with our tours tomorrow and our trip to Six Flags on Friday. Saturday we will attend the Oklahoma Youth Expo Livestock Show in Oklahoma City instead of going on to Houston. We will still return home on Sunday afternoon, maybe a little earlier than originally planned.

**Test Tornado Warning Drill Today** - As you plan your day today, remember that a statewide tornado drill will occur at 10:00 am. Outdoor tornado warnings will sound and you may see warning messages show up on your TV. This is a great chance to practice our tornado plan!
Today several staff members surprised our students by greeting them when they came in with cheering, music, and fist bumps!!! Great way to kick off the week!!!
Blue and Gold orders will be here tomorrow, Tuesday, March 3rd around noon. Please plan to pickup as soon as possible. Parents or family are encouraged to pick up from school before school is out. With high school basketball games going on tomorrow evening, Mr. Sutton will plan to be around after the games to load people out.
