Uniontown FFA Meat Evalutation Team

After evaluating six classes, identifying 30 retail beef, pork and lamb cuts, quality and yield grading 6 beef carcasses, quality grading 20 rib-eyes and answering questions over two classes, the Meat Evaluation Judging Team from the Uniontown FFA Chapter was named the Reserve State Champion team on Tuesday, May 7th in Manhattan, Kansas. The contest featured 33 schools of all classification levels from across the entire state of Kansas and 133 individual contestants. The team also ranked 2nd in Retail Identification. 

Clay Brillhart led the team with a 7th place individual performance. Maddie Ard was named the 9th place individual and Braden Griffiths was just outside the top 10 in 12th place. Logan Geiger was also on the team. 

With the 2nd place finish, the Uniontown FFA Meat Evaluation team will now represent Kansas at the National Western Roundup contest held in Denver, Colorado in January. The team is coached by Uniontown FFA Advisor Scott Sutton.
