The Eagles and the Altoona-Midway Jets faced off in the first game of the midseason tournament at Pleasanton tonight. There were no JV games, but both Varsity teams brought home wins.

The girls Varsity team won 57-16 against the Jets. Karleigh Schoenberger had 16 points tonight. Breleigh Harris had 6 steals and Gwenyth Fry had 10 rebounds, 4 assists, and 5 steals. Danielle Howard had 5 assists and 11 points. Many of our JV players were able to get some playing time in. Fry said of the game, “We were always encouraging to each other on and off the court. I am so proud of all of my teammates and look forward to the future!” Coach Miller added, “Tonight was a good example of how everyone needs to be ready at all times. All 12 girls were able to compete and put to use the skills they have gained.”

The boys Varsity won 64-51. Jake Harvey and Luke George led the team in points, gathering 27 and 17, respectively. George also had 4 assists and 6 rebounds, and Hunter Schaaf had 8 rebounds. Drew Perry had 6 assists. “The boys continue to work hard and improve each game,” said Coach Hays. “Our shots were falling tonight and at times our defense was really good. I thought in the second half we did a really good job of getting the 50-50 balls and that helped us build a lead late in the game.”
