Uniontown USD #235 is committed to making sure that all children in our community are fed as we are facing the current school closing.
Through a federal waiver, Uniontown is able to provide the Seamless Summer Option meal program for all children ages 1-18.
There is no paperwork to fill out or registration to complete. However, students must be visibly present to receive meals!
Our Food Service and Transportation Departments are going to try a new blended method for getting food to our students. We are going to still have pickup points for people who live in the city limits of Uniontown, Redfield, Mapleton, and Bronson while delivering food to our rural students. We can only deliver to addresses in the Uniontown USD 235 boundaries. If you live outside of our boundaries you will need to travel to a pick up point to get your sack meals. You can also email Superintendent Bret Howard at bhoward@uniontown235.org and see if there are school districts serving closer to your area that we can put you in contact with.
In order to make this work, we need ALL families wanting food delivered or wanting to pick up at one of the pick up points on Tuesday, March 31 and Thursday, April 2 to call Michelle DeMott at 620-238-4968 by Monday, March 30 at 7:00 AM. You will need to let her know how many sack meals along with your address and/or pick up point. Sack meals will be for two days. Tuesday will have Tues/Wed and Thursday will have Thurs/Fri.
Pick up points will be from 11:00 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31 and Thursday, April 2. Deliveries for rural students will take place from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. According to the guidelines of the program, we will not be able to serve meals outside of these exact times. It is imperative that we be able to hand meals out quickly so we will need people to be at the addresses given and ready to come out and meet the school vehicles to get their meals. We will not deliver to the door.
We will be grateful to our families to help us make this go as smoothly as possible! Please be patient as this will be a learning experience for us all!
Staff must see each child for them to receive their meal. Pick up points for those living in the city limits are at the following locations:
- Uniontown – WBE by the awning.
- Redfield – Marmaton Community Church (west side)
- Mapleton – City Park
- Bronson – Bronson Locker
