Suicide: Stop the Spike Picture from Southeast Kansas Mental Health Center

Dear Parents and Guardians:

We just wanted to send out a reminder about school-based mental health services.  Southeast Kansas Mental Health Center and USD 235 partnered in the last year to make school based mental health services available to students.  Across the US, we are seeing an increase in depression and anxiety among individuals and we are watching the spike in suicide rates.  If you have any concerns about your children and want to get them involved in therapy through the school based program, please contact your school counselor, or you can contact our offices in Fort Scott (620)223-5030, or Iola at (620)365-5717 to request services, or you can leave me a message at either WBE or UHS and I can talk with you further about services and how to get started.  We will continue to take more referrals as the need arises and will increase our time at the school to meet the need.  Thank you and I look forward to hearing from anyone who has concerns!
