The Uniontown Eagles and the St. Paul Indians went head to head in our first home game of the season. Our Varsity teams were unfortunately defeated, along with the girls’ JV team.

The Varsity girls lost to St. Paul 34 to 54. Danielle Howard once again led the team in points and rebounds, having 18 and 9, respectively. She also had 4 steals. Karleigh Schoenberger had 11 points, and Gwenyth Fry had 6 rebounds. Said Coach Miller after the game, “Disappointed in the outcome, but pleased with the effort. St. Paul is a great team to compete against. We needed this game to reveal our shortcomings and it did just that. I am confident that we will use this opportunity to get better. We are looking forward to playing at Oswego on January 14.”

After a hard-fought game and one overtime, the boys’ Varsity lost to the Indians with a score of 45 to 50. Jake Harvey and Luke Perry had 19 and 10 points. Harvey also had 7 rebounds, along with Luke George. Hunter Schaaf and Clay Sutterby each had 6 rebounds, and Schaaf had 3 assists. “I thought the boys played their tails off tonight,” said Coach Hays. “They fought and scrapped and played with a lot of energy. I thought our defense was really good.”
