Mrs. Sutterby's Graphic Design Fundamentals class was tasked with creating t-shirt designs for the upcoming WBE Fun Run event. The WBE Student Council got to pick which design would be printed on the shirts. They picked the one created by Zoey Hull, but the designs made by Will Maycumber and Daryanna Salm were in close contention. Can't wait to see the shirts!
Today we had 6 Uniontown FFA Members submit applications for a Supervised Agricultural Experience Proficiency Award. We are excited to announce we had 3 SE District winners and 3 other top 5 finishes.

On Friday, February 23rd, we were made aware of an allegation of inappropriate conduct by a Uniontown JH staff member towards one of our students in a setting outside of the school environment. We take these allegations very seriously as student safety and care are always our first priority. We began an investigation immediately and have worked with the Bourbon County Sheriff's Department to gain clarity. The teacher in question, Mrs. Breanne Taylor, was arrested on Sunday, February 25th and has been placed on administrative leave until the investigation is complete.
Please rest assured that when students return to school from the weekend, we will continue to support them and prioritize their safety. We recognize that this situation will create a complex set of emotions for students and staff. We have organized additional mental health support to ensure care is accessible for those who may need it.
Personnel and student information is protected by law. That said, we want you to feel informed and we will pass along the information that can shared as the situation evolves.
Nothing matters more to our district than creating a safe and caring learning experience for every student, every day. If you ever suspect inappropriate behavior, we ask that you bring it to our attention.

The Bourbon County Spelling Bee was held at WBE on February 12. Twenty-four students from 4th to 8th grade participated. Ziggy Barbour (8th grade) placed first and earned a trip to The Sunflower State Spelling Bee at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kansas on Saturday, March 23, 2024. The second-place winner was fifth-grader, Sias Keller. All of the students did a great job!
Hugh Shout out for Trent Eck. He Finished 3rd at Regional Wrestling which Qualifies him for State Wrestling This Week @ Salina.
