The Uniontown FFA Livestock Judging team places 9th at Nationals!
This past week the Uniontown FFA Livestock Judging Team competed at the National FFA contest held in Indianapolis, Indiana.
48 teams from across the country represented their respective states in the national competition. After judging 12 classes of livestock and presenting 4 sets of oral reasons, Uniontown finished in 9th place securing a top 10 finish at the national level for the fourth time in the past 10 years for the chapter.
The team consisted of Kole Harris, Klara Stock, Jace Harvey and Kinsley Harris.
Individually Kole, Klara and Kinsley finished in the Gold division and Jace ranked in the Silver division. The gold division recognizes the top 15% of contestants in the contest. Silver represents the next 35%.
This team not only achieved a state championship and national level success, but just as importantly, they represented Uniontown with class on a national stage. We are very proud of them!

Important Update: Today’s Student Pick-Up Procedure at West Bourbon Elementary
Happy Friday, WBE Families!
Because of construction at the southeast entrance of our parking lot near the softball field, today's afternoon Student Pick-Up will follow our morning Drop-Off procedure. To help dismissal run smoothly and safely, please follow these directions:
Entering: Please enter the parking lot using the north driveway off 5th Street.
Traffic Flow: Proceed around the perimeter of the parking lot in a clockwise direction.
Pick Up Zone: As you round the east side of the gym, your driver’s side door will face the building. Pull forward, and our WBE staff will guide your student directly to your vehicle.
Parking Option: If you prefer, you are also welcome to park in the parking lot and walk up to the pick-up area to meet your student.
Map: Refer to the map for a visual representation of the Student Pick-Up process for today.
With this unusual setup, patience, grace, and a strong commitment to safety will ensure every child gets home smoothly today. Thank you so much for your cooperation and support. Have a great weekend!

On Tuesday, October 20th, Uniontown traveled to Greenbush for our Regional Ecomeet competition. Our younger students represented Uniontown well with two junior high teams made up of Khloe Bradbury, Macie Hueston, Riley Whisenhunt, Lillie Brown, Rhuey Eden, Aggie Miller, and Haddle Brooks. Our high school students had a total of three teams whose main goal was to keep the traveling trophy in Uniontown's possession. The high school teams included Payton McAfee, Ash Sporleder, Ty Shelton, Lillyan Robinson, Mathew Knight, Lexi Irsik, Renee Robinson, Adam Perry, Reece Knight, Ely Pritchett, and Zoey Franklin. Our Team A, which was made up of Payton McAfee, Ash Sporleder, Ty Shelton, and Lillyan Robinson, received 1st place overall and secured the traveling trophy to stay yet another year in Uniontown! Payton McAfee placed 3rd in Tall Grass Prairie as an individual; Ty Shelton also received 3rd in Invertebrates as an individual, while Ash Sporleder, Payton McAfee, and Lillyan Robinson had a three-way tie for 3th place as individuals in Invertebrates. Our first-place team will travel to Hesston on Thursday, November 5th to compete at the State Eco-meet.
