Started off the year with a BANG in jh and hs science! The 8th graders learned about combustion reactions with a great demonstration. Seventh graders engineered launchers, and sophomore science engineered a device to get a passenger from pt. A to B! Here’s to a great year!
Today we welcomed WBE students back to school along side the Bourbon County Sheriff's Dept. Starting the day with high fives and smiling faces is a great way to do it!

WBE will be filling a paraprofessional position for the 2019-20 school year. If you are interested, please visit the SEK Interlocal 637 website and apply there by Monday, August 26th at noon. We hope to find an applicant who is able to start work on or before August 29th.
Kansas law KSA 8-1556 requires all motorists to stop when approaching a stopped school bus from either direction when it is displaying its flashing red lights and stop arm. Motorists are to remain stopped until the bus is no longer displaying its flashing red lights and stop arm.

The Fitness Center will reopen to the public on Monday, August 26. Monday - Friday the fitness center will open at 5:00 AM and close again at 7:00 AM. It will then reopen at 5:30 PM and be open until 9:00 PM.

REMINDER - Band Parent Meeting for 7th-12th grade students will be at 7:30 PM, Thursday, August 15 in the Band Room.
MEETING SITE CHANGED: Fall Sports Parent Meeting at 6:30 PM on Thursday, August 15 at 6:30 PM. The meeting will be held in the HIGH SCHOOL COMMONS AREA. The parking lot at WBE was completed today and is not ready for traffic to drive on it.
We are thrilled about the new mulch we are adding to our WBE playground for next year, but for right now we need to close it for construction. Thanks!
WBE Playground will see recycled rubber added on the playground to replace the river gravel. The process began this morning and will be completed by the time school begins.
