Just a friendly reminder to come see us during enrollment this Wednesday, July 30th, from noon to 7 or this Thursday, July 31st, from 8 to 4. In order to make the process go as smoothly as possible, please plan to bring your child with you in case they need to make schedule changes or complete any forms. Our master schedule changed over the summer to best accommodate the needs of our students and staff, so individual schedules might need some final adjustments as well. See you soon! :)

Our 2024-25 UJH/UHS yearbooks have arrived, and they are awesome! If you ordered a copy, you may pick it up from Mrs. Sutterby at Enrollment this week (July 30 - 31). The book publisher did send us a few overrun copies (extras that they print as a quality control measure). Those copies are available on a first-come, first-served basis (no holds) for $40 each.

The Trump administration announced that it would release the Title IVB funds. This specific allocation is the funding source of our WBE after-school program, which should allow us to continue to operate our approved programs in the 25-26 school year. While we are appreciative that this decision was revised, we still ask for your advocacy that all Title Funds be released as previously allocated. The district's Title IIA and Title IVA Funds are still impounded by the administration at this point.

Help us refine our vision for the next school year.
The following survey will be used by the Uniontown Board of Education to set the direction and vision for the district in the coming school year and beyond. You gave us some information in May, but the board feels like they need a bit more feedback to get it right.
At only 10 questions that will probably take less than 5 minutes to complete, we hope you will take this opportunity right now to let us hear your voice.

A few of our digital media students took time away from their summer activities to attend the Flint Hills Publications Workshop at Kansas State University. The group participated in sessions on design, photography, and journalism, and received an all-access tour of the press box, network TV broadcast booth, and photography deck on the sixth and seventh floors of Bill Snyder Stadium.

USD 235 has room for additional PreSchool and Kindergarten students while still maintaining excellent student-to-teacher ratios. West Bourbon scores in the top 15% of all elementary schools in Kansas and is the highest performer in Southeast Kansas. Starting students with the right foundation is key to their future success, and there is no better place to do that than in Uniontown. Learn more about enrolling your early learner at Uniontown235.org or by contacting us at 620-224-2350. Additionally, we would gladly set up a tour of the building or sit down to answer your questions. Feel free to email our Principal, Dustin Miller, at dmiller@uniontown235.org or our Superintendent, Vance Eden, at veden@uniontown235.org. Please consider sharing this with those who may need it.

This week's student photography share -- favorite UHS basketball photos that did not make it into the yearbook. And GREAT news -- the 2024-25 printed yearbooks will arrive in time to be picked up at enrollment! We can't wait for you to see the photos that DID make it in!
