
JH Synergistics class has been learning about bridge construction and civil engineers the past few weeks. Each group was task with building a balsa wood bridge with a limit of 20 linear feet to hold as much weight as possible. The school record for this project still dates back to 1998 set by Tom Probst at 107 lbs.




Our 6th Grade class is sponsoring a canned food drive for the First Missionary Baptist Church. Collected items will be used to fill Christmas food baskets and to restock their Blessing Closet. If you would like to help them reach their goal of 500 canned or boxed items, please drop donations off at WBE before December 17.


Christmas orders are due December 9th. STUCO members will continue taking orders throughout the month of December and an online shop will be opened in January.


On Friday, November 8 the Applied Biology & Chemistry, Earth & Space, and Botany classes traveled to Springfield, Missouri to tour Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium. The students were exposed to the great outdoors, wildlife, and conservation to help instill values that promote the respect of our land, water, and wildlife. Other highlights of the trip included eating lunch at Lambert's Cafe and a quick stop at Buc-ee's for snacks.


On Saturday, November 16 our C Division Science Olympiad team travelled to Olathe NorthWest to compete in the O-Town Throw Down Invitational. We had 16 students who had worked and prepared projects to compete with. Dylon Diebert & Hunter Johnson placed 3rd in Air Trajectory, Anthony Weyant & Hunter Johnson placed 4th in Electric Vehicle, and Anthony Weyant & Hunter Johnson placed 7th in Helicopter. Overall, the team did very well, placing 15th out of 22 schools.


Did you know that USD 235 has been using locally grown ground beef for our school lunches? Thank you to the local producers and lockers who partner with us! Our November ground beef was donated by G-Three Cattle with the processing donated by Moran Locker.
Bronson Locker has been a longtime supporter of this effort along with Keller Ranch, G&M Cattle, the Stewart Family, the Eden Family, Preston Reeder and more!

The JH Woodworkers enjoyed a round of Catapult Golf today. Each group had designed a catapult to solve a problem earlier in the week so this was a chance to have a little fun with them. They played a 9 hole tournament and the winning team was Kaidden Hathaway and Emma McAffe with a score of 25. Both other teams tied with 34. We have some creative young engineers.





KC Chiefs watch party sponsored by Uniontown FFA!!!
This Sunday, November 17th, at 3:00 PM all Uniontown High School and Junior High students and staff are welcome to join Uniontown FFA for a Chiefs watch party at the UHS commons.
FFA will provide burgers, hot dogs and drinks. FFA members can bring sides or desserts for activity points.
Kickoff is at 3:25 PM and we anticipate wrapping up around 6:15.


Thank you to Tim Brown for spending time with our Ag welding classes helping better understand and improve our abilities with the TIG welding process.
The students were very intrigued by the process and have been laying beads with the TIG welder since his visit!

The UHS Class of 2028 hosted a cornhole tournament for the UJH and UHS students yesterday after school.
Makiah Woods and Marley Sutton took first place and Blake Ervin and Dylon Deibert took 2nd.

The UHS Booster Club would like to remind you that we will hold our Fall Athletic Banquet on Wednesday, November 13th at 5:30 PM in the UHS Commons.
Freshman and sophomore families are being asked to bring side dishes and junior and senior families are being asked to bring desserts.
We look forward to recognizing and honoring our student-athletes and ask everyone to treat the event as a formal gathering. With this we ask that athletes dress neatly and refrain from wearing hats.
There will be a winter sports parent meeting following the banquet. We estimate that time to be approximately 7:30 PM.
