The JH Woodworkers enjoyed a round of Catapult Golf today. Each group had designed a catapult to solve a problem earlier in the week so this was a chance to have a little fun with them. They played a 9 hole tournament and the winning team was Kaidden Hathaway and Emma McAffe with a score of 25. Both other teams tied with 34. We have some creative young engineers.

The UHS Booster Club would like to remind you that we will hold our Fall Athletic Banquet on Wednesday, November 13th at 5:30 PM in the UHS Commons. Freshman and sophomore families are being asked to bring side dishes and junior and senior families are being asked to bring desserts. We look forward to recognizing and honoring our student-athletes and ask everyone to treat the event as a formal gathering. With this we ask that athletes dress neatly and refrain from wearing hats. There will be a winter sports parent meeting following the banquet. We estimate that time to be approximately 7:30 PM.

Kindergarten got to spend the afternoon with a few ladies from United Health Care disguising our turkeys for Thanksgiving. They also graciously donated $380 worth of snacks to both Kindergarten classrooms. Thank you! Fun Fact: A few of these ladies also walked the halls of WBE as students during their elementary years!

Attention all heroic parents of West Bourbon Elementary! The day after Halloween can be especially challenging when getting your kids ready for school. Dealing with a tired and cranky child can feel like trying to dress a feral cat! It's best to avoid bribing them with leftover candy and sending them off to school with sugary treats. We prefer your child still in their pajamas, rather than sending them in a hyperactive state after a sugar binge...lol. On November 1st, send your little ones to school with a clear head. It is crucial for them to rise and shine for school! Together, let's encourage our students to embrace the day ahead with open minds, full hearts, and maybe just a tad less face paint than yesterday. We will help them detox from the Halloween candy and return them to you at 3:30 pm. Remember, knowledge is their greatest treat, and every day at school is a chance for them to grow and learn. So, gear them up for a day of post-Halloween learning! Thank you for your cooperation.
