Uniontown FFA had a tremendous showing at the Southeast District FFA Meat Judging contest today in Eureka, Kansas!
The Freshman/Sophomore team was crowned the Champion team in their respective division! Not only did they score high enough to win the FR/SO division, but their total score was high enough they would have also won the Junior/Senior division as well!
The Junior/Senior Team also had a great day and ranked 2nd in the district behind Eureka FFA only losing by 19 points out of a possible 1820 points.
Leading the way for the FR/SO team was Marley Sutton, high individual overall, Hailey Shadden (3rd), Kendyl Bloesser (4th) and Makiah Woods (5th). Payton McAfee was 7th and Ziggy Barbour was 9th.
The JR/SR team was led by Jewel Endicott who finished 2nd overall. Maria Cibrian was 4th, Kole Harris was 7th and Klara Stock was 9th.
The meat judging team will catch a break for a few weeks, but will soon fire it back up for a busy spring judging season before competing at the Kansas FFA State Contest in Manhattan in early May.

If the March 4th, USD 235 Bond Issue passes, it will neither increase the mill/ tax rate nor extend the length of our current bond payment.

JH students pose with their completed balsa wood bridge prior to competition. Groups were tasked with building a balsa wood bridge to hold as much weight as possible with just 20' of sticks. They could use any design as long as it met the requirements of 14'' long 3-4" wide and up to 4" tall. Each year they are chasing the school record of 107 lbs. Our best this round was 74 lbs. Careers involved in the lessons were civil engineering, construction workers, architects, and contractors.

The March 4th Bond proposal has been significantly reduced in size from the prior proposal and will now only focus on 3 prioritized projects.
