USD 235 drivers - we appreciate you! Thank you for helping our students be successful!

The USD 235 Bond Issue has two main themes; increasing safety and expanding educational opportunities. Both Proposition 1 and Proposition 2 address these essential components.

Proposition 1 will address the old modular buildings on the West of WBE. The new storm shelter, built in the same location would then house our 4-year-old Preschool program while also adding a 3-year-old program. This structure would be connected to WBE to allow for more safe and efficient travel.

Voters will see to two bond propositions on the ballot. It is important to remember that Proposition 1 must pass in order for Proposition 2 to have the ability to pass. The infographic below illustrates this information.

The following video provides a good overview of the work that has been done up to this point and why we are bringing a bond to our community on November 7th.

Passage of the Proposition 2 would create space to house a new Construction Science Program. This program would bring meaningful learning and career opportunities to our students.

Happy Friday the 13th! Thanks to our awesome students for cooking breakfast for staff & students in the parking lot this morning! 🦅🧡🎉

Our 8th grade students are taking Keyboarding for one Quarter this school year. In the class, they are learning to use word processing, spreadsheet, and slideshow software as well as an introduction to the Adobe Illustrator software. Additionally, they are using keyboard covers to learn to find the correct keys on a keyboard without looking. Towards the end of this quarter, they began competing against each other for speed and accuracy. Congratulations to Jordan Shadden for winning the competition! Jordan's best score was 46 wpm at 100% accuracy. Nice work, Jordan!
Proposition 2 Overview: The following video gives a brief introduction to projects included in Proposition 2 of the November election.

Proposition 2 of the November 7th Bond Issue will address our current Ag and shop space. This building has been a great asset to the district for a very long time but is unfortunately at the end of its useable life. Proposition two would provide a new space for these programs while also adding a space for construction trades.

The WBE entrance and aluminum frame doors are original to the structure. The years of use have left them needing frequent attention and repair by our custodial staff while also posing a security risk at times when they fail to operate correctly. Proposition 1 will replace these doors while also addressing an ADA compliance issue that exists with our current situation.
