Uniontown FFA members recently returned from a four day, 3 night field trip to Colorado. The group of 13 students toured the Boot Hill Museum in Dodge City, Reeve Cattle Feedlot in Garden City, Great Plains Manufacturing in Salina and Cargill Meat Solutions Innovation Center in Wichita. They also attended the National Western Stock Show in Denver, Colorado and spent a day skiing at Loveland Ski Area West of Denver.
Uniontown FFA attends the National FFA Convention every other year and takes extended field trips to Denver, Colorado and Houston, Texas in between National Convention trips. The goal is to give every Uniontown FFA member the chance to attend National FFA Convention, the National Western Stock Show in Denver and the the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo during their four years in FFA.
Not only do they tour Agricultural businesses on these trips, but they attend historic stock shows, attend professional rodeos and experience new activities that will create lifelong memories.
Members qualify for the trips by fundraising, earning FFA activity points and keeping their school grades at satisfactory levels. All trip expenses are paid for by members and the Uniontown FFA Chapter. No expenses are paid for by district funds.
